Battles are won or lost on account of strategies. One of the most dangerous things we can do as believers is to take yesterday’s anointed strategy and try to make it work in today’s battle.
We have probably been involved in groups where we shared how Joshua circled Jericho and we are urged to do the same. Or, Jehoshaphat marched out singing, so that is how we should do our battles as well.
If God is in it please go ahead and reuse a plan of attack. But how far would a football team go if after having good results from one play they then repeated that play ever time? Be careful about reusing yesterday’s strategies rather than God’s fresh, creative solutions.
Consider a few of the battle strategies in scripture:
Stand still and see God’s salvation
Listen for marching in the balsam trees
Set an ambush
Scale the city
Lay a siege
Dig ditches
Crawl up the water tunnel
Use a sling stone
Wasps or hail stones
One sturdy angel
An early morning surprise attack
Call down fire from heaven
A night attack with lamps and horns
Drop a mill stone on the enemy’s head
Take a thousand from each tribe
Hide a dagger in your coat
Samson used a Jaw bone of an ass. Talk about unique weapons, Jesus used a cross to disarm and overcome. Now, the cross might actually be a good strategy to repeat daily!
Let’s seek Father God daily for fresh strategies so we may be assured of fresh victories!
